In a stark reflection of the deteriorating conditions in Minneapolis under the leadership of Governor Time Walz, residents are facing a shocking new challenge: dogs consuming discarded needles from rampant drug use.
In a police press conference, the officer commented on rising crime in a Minneapolis neighborhood. “In some cases their dog eating a needle, having to take a needle out of their dogs mouth,” he said.
The issue is far from new; there have been numerous public outcries and hearings addressing the alarming increase of littered needles throughout the city and a rampant rise in crime.
Earlier, Mitch Kilian, an associate vice president with the Metropolitan Airports Commission, testified about the “incredible” extent of open drug use on Metro Transit systems, stating, “It’s not marijuana use. It’s crack and things like that.” This open defiance of the law occurs in plain sight, endangering passengers and contributing to an increasingly hostile environment.
Testimonies from citizens during a recent congressional hearing highlighted the consequences of Walz’s perceived soft-on-crime policies. Former Republican attorney general nominee Jim Schultz underscored that under Walz’s governance, Minnesota has transformed into a state where crime proliferates unchecked. He lamented the failure to contain violence during the George Floyd riots, declaring, “Tim Walz has mastered one skill: the art of standing idly by while his state spirals into chaos.”
The statistics are sobering; homicides have surged by 75%, and gunshot victims have doubled since Walz took office. Business owners like chef Brian Ingram recounted their traumatic experiences with crime, noting a sharp increase in burglaries and the heart-wrenching loss of a business partner’s son to a fentanyl overdose, with the perpetrator still at large, as reported by Alpha News.
As House Majority Whip Tom Emmer pointedly remarked, the testimonies represent the voices of countless Minnesotans victimized by a crime wave under Walz’s leadership. Emmer stated, “Under Gov. Tim Walz’s failed leadership, criminals and fraudsters are running wild in Minnesota.”
