Last week Thursday, President Trump announced that he would be nominating the U.S. Attorney Assistant, Rebecca Taibleson. Tailbleson is nominated to replace Judge Diane Sykes on the 7th Circuit Court.
Taibleson has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Wisconsin since 2016. She also clerked for Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia, and Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Her most notable appearance in the public eye was testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2018, regarding the confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh for Supreme Court.

Rebecca brings a wealth of EXPERIENCE AND SUCCESS, from her time as Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and, formerly, as Assistant to the United States Solicitor General, ” said President Trump on Truth Social.
He continued, “Rebecca has learned from some of the BEST and most HIGHLY RESPECTED Legal Minds in the Country, having clerked for United States Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Antonin Scalia. Rebecca will make a fantastic Judge who will fearlessly defend the Constitution, and strongly uphold the Rule of Law. Taibleson was nominated by both Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), and Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) to replace Judge Diane Sykes. Sykes will be achieving senior status on October 1st. The nomination was in mid-July, among 4 other candidates to place Judge Sykes.
The 7th Circuit Court is headquartered in Chicago, serving the Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana area. Typically two of the 11 seats on the bench are taken by Wisconsin Judges. (RELATED: Wisconsin Judge Escalates Showdown Between ICE and ‘Sanctuary County’ Sheriff)
