On Thursday, the Wisconsin College of Republicans tweeted out a message involving the U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany. Speculation points to an announcement about the governor’s race.
The post stated that Rep. Tom Tiffany would be hosting an event in his district, at the Peterson Barn in Wausau this Wednesday. The post mentioned nothing of entrance into the race. However, the post did mention it’s a “very special event” and “WICRs are going to put every student on the ground to win BIG in Wisconsin.” (RELATED: Wausau Alderman Under Fire: Citizens Demand Resignation After Blaming Charlie Kirk For His Own Assassination)
Tiffany, well known in northern Wisconsin, represents the 7th district covering the majority of the northern portion. He has been hinting to an entrance to the gubernatorial race for a couple months now. Back in June, he said, “We’ve got work to do here. My first obligation is to the people of the 7th congressional district in northern and western Wisconsin.”
In recent years, abortion and border protection have become highlights in Badger state’s political crosshairs. Tiffany, champions such issues such as the run away inflation and government deficit, pro-life abortion policy, securing the border, and protecting the 2nd amendment. Tiffany’s entrance into the race would expand the GOP’s official pool to three. Tiffany would join Whitefish Bay businessman Bill Berrien and Waukesha County Executive Josh Schoemann. If the GOP would win, they would serve as the first Republican governor to win the seat since Scott Walker left the office in 2019.
The announcement would come only a week after socialist candidate Francesca Hong just announced her candidacy. Hong will be running under the democratic ticket despite her independent-socialist views.
