Billie Eilish is facing backlash after her “no one is illegal on stolen land” Grammy speech sparked outrage—and prompted an Australian activist to claim he was detained and deported after mocking the singer online.
The controversy goes back to Eilish’s comments at the Grammy Awards in early February, where she used her Song of the Year moment to condemn ICE enforcement, saying that “no one is illegal on stolen land”. Following those comments, Pavlou launched a post that he planned to “move into” Eilish’s Los Angeles-area home as a way to mock her, along with making other posts.
According to Fox News, Pavlau later claimed he spent roughly 30 hours in custody and blamed Eilish’s “legal team” for directing authorities to stop him and remove him from the country. (RELATED: DOJ Declares USDA Race-Based Programs Unconstitutional)
Pavlou said officers questioned him about whether he intended to trespass on Eilish’s property and suggested he might need a different visa if he intended to do media appearances, including a planned visit tied to conservative influencer Stephen Crowder.
Pavlou claimed US immigration authorities are trying to accuse him of attempting to assassinate Chinese government officials. (RELATED: Top Wisconsin Liberal Donor Mentioned in Epstein Files 2,000+ Times)
“US Customs were literally asking me if I had previously attempted to assassinate Chinese government officials,” said Pavlou via X. Pavlou says these allegations stem from allegations that go back to July 2022 when he was the victim of a SWATing attempt by the Chinese Embassy in London.
Celebrity night show host Bill Maher also chimed in on the Eilish comments suggesting she “doesn’t say anything” because she “doesn’t know things.” Maher also said in his show that her comments could lead to her being removed from her Los Angeles home.
Sinai Law Firm reportedly offered to evict her on a “pro bono basis” on behalf of the Tongva tribe, the land that her house is built on.
