As legacy media muddies the waters on Charlie Kirk’s assassin’s politics, the spin is working—nearly one in four Americans now wrongly believe Charlie Kirk’s accused assassin was a Republican, despite records and family testimony showing he leaned left.
Over the weekend, old social media posts and new evidence surfaced about Robinson as people try to decipher his affiliations. Despite viral claims online, official voting records show Robinson was unaffiliated. Some posts on X, including one with over 1.4 million views, claimed he was a Republican.
Family members have since come forward saying he was “the only one on the left” in the family.
At the scene, Utah’s governor announced that investigators recovered the murder weapon, a fired casing, and three unfired rounds. Each round carried a separate engraved message. The fired round read, “Notices, bulges, OwO what’s this?”—a Gen Z phrase from the “furry community” mimicking a wide-eyed emoji.
Another casing said, “Hey fascist! Catch!” referencing the video game “Helldivers 2,” where players can drop bombs. (RELATED: Wausau Alderman Under Fire: Citizens Demand Resignation After Blaming Charlie Kirk For His Own Assassination)
A third casing read, “Oh Bella, ciao, bella, ciao Bella ciao ciao ciao,” lyrics from a well-known Italian anti-fascism song that has been trending online. The final casing said, “If you read this, you are gay LMAO,” a popular internet meme.
According to Fox Digital, Robinson lived in St. George, Utah, with a transgender roommate with whom he was in a “romantic relationship.” An FBI official said the roommate has been “extremely cooperative” and claimed to have had “no idea” Robinson was allegedly planning to assassinate Kirk.
“There appear to have been multiple warning signs,” Dan Bongino told the New York Post. “You just laid out some of them. There were people in his network, friends and family who had stated that he had become more political.”
A relative of Robinson’s roommate also told Fox Digital: “I think Tyler got a whole lot worse in the year they have been dating. They are big gamers, and obviously they have that group that influences them as well as others. But my gut tells me [the roommate] did more of the influencing.” (RELATED: UW-Madison Professor Under Fire for Comments in the Wake of Charlie Kirk Death)
