Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are engaged, the couple confirmed Tuesday.
The announcement came in a joint Instagram post featuring photos of Kelce on one knee in a flower-filled garden and Swift showing off her engagement ring — a custom old-mine brilliant cut diamond designed by Kelce and Artifex Fine Jewelry. Swift captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023, shortly after Kelce revealed on his New Heights podcast that he tried and failed to meet Swift at her Eras Tour show in Kansas City. The singer later told TIME that the two had quietly been together before she attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023. Their relationship has been in the spotlight ever since, with Swift attending numerous Chiefs games — including two Super Bowls — and Kelce appearing at multiple Eras Tour stops around the world. (RELATED: Environmental Groups Representing Wisconsin Youth File Controversial Lawsuit)
The engagement follows Swift’s recent appearance on Kelce’s podcast, where she described him as “a human exclamation point.”
The wedding date has not been announced.
