On Sunday, the Milwaukee Brewers wrapped up their historic regular season, ending the year with a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals to set a new regular season win record.
The Brewers closed out a three game sweep in commanding fashion as Cy Young frontrunner Jacob Misiorowski earned the Crew their 103rd win of the 2026 season. The Miz ended the year leading the league in a majority of MLB pitching stats. He finished with: 252 Ks (1st), 1.80 ERA (1st), 0.80 WHIP (1st), .157 BAA (1st), and about 13 K/9. Miz also came in tied for third in WAR, and tied for second in wins.
To start the year, the Brewers were expected to finish middle of the pack in the central division, and barely pass the 80 win mark. This included reports that they had less than a 50% chance to make the playoffs. Despite these projections, the Crew ended up being the first team across the league to clinch a postseason berth, their division and a number 1 seed in their League. The Brewers had some big question marks coming into the 2026 season. The loss of Freddy Peralta, Caleb Durbin, Isaac Collins and Nick Mears did not prove to be as major losses as they initially appeared. Jacob Misiorowski and Logan Henderson ended up playing major roles in this year’s starting rotation, including quality outings from a revolving door of starting pitchers. Amongst others; Shane Drohan, Robert Gasser, and Kyle Harrison combined for an ERA right around 4 and threw about a quarter of the total innings.
The Brewers offense did not skip a beat, posting the best batting average and on-base percentage across baseball. Breakout seasons from Jake Bauers, Brice Turang, and Garret Mitchell helped the Crew put up the second most runs per game. Jackson Chourio earned Milwaukee’s batting title, hitting just above .290 throughout the year. (RELATED:Wisconsin Mom Raises $1.2M for Family of Lindsay Clancy)
The Crew gets to take the entire week of the Wild Card series off, as they wait to see who comes out of the Padres/Cubs series. The first game of the NLDS will be at American Family Field on Saturday October 3rd. If the Brewers advance out of the Divisional Series, they will advance to the NLCS, where their likely opponent would be the Los Angeles Dodgers, who currently occupy the 2nd seed.
